Haha! It was quite the ordeal! Now the little bas—er, critters, are getting into my garden eating the cantaloupes and tomatoes and peaches from my tree. 🤬 I had to put a row cover over the cantaloupes to deter them! Grrrr! I’ll be “almost” glad when the season is over. 🤭
I don’t mind if they take one or two, and eat the whole thing, but noooo, they take a bite or two, or eat half and or bury their head into the centers. I’m done. 🤪
Oh no! It’s so annoying if they don’t take the whole thing - just taking a few bits here and there is plain unreasonable. They could take ONE whole one and leave the rest untouched for you to enjoy!
Gail, I've found you and this thanks to Rebecca Holden. What a story! And I think you've landed on a pair of new product ideas here: Smudged 'n' Stoned (hysterical) AND a Critter Ladder. Think of the possibilities! Swimming pools, storm drains, chimneys and stove pipes. And it could double as a fire escape for Barbies. "Hey, kids, let's learn about family safety! Doesn't that sound fun?" 🤣
I'm glad you got the little sh*t out of there. I'm glad you're still married. I shared a squirrel rescue story yesterday that took quite the opposite tack and got all soft and sentimental. But, there was a moment when I wondered...
I loved this story. Outsmarting the squirrel: Kudos to you two!
Oh GAIL!!!!!!!
This was an edge-of-the-seat read from start to finish - what an incredible story! You're so inventive! SUCH a great post!

What an ordeal! I spent the day reweaving my nest swing since my unnamed squirrels chewed threw the strapping. Grrrr. You are a saint.
Wow! they sure have strange tastes! We had a squirrel eat through a couple of gas caps, one on a lawn mower and on a snow thrower.
This saga still brings me joy and needs to be a cartoon 😂
